Everyone can benefit from exercise!

An exercise program, whether it consists of aerobic conditioning or yoga, can benefit someone with arthritis or fibromyalgia.

Exercise helps people with arthritis, fibromyalgia
According to the American College of Rheumatology, research shows that exercise programs including muscle and aerobic conditioning and stretching can help maintain health, improve fitness and reduce arthritis-related disability and pain.The College also recommends supervised aerobic conditioning exercises, regular stretching and range-of-motion exercises for people with fibromyalgia.

Water Wellness, yoga offer relaxing workouts
The Wellness Center, which features a 25-yard lap pool and warm-water therapy pool, offers Water Wellness for people with arthritis or fibromyalgia. This is a great class for strengthening, toning and stretching using full range of motion for a relaxing workout. The class follows guidelines from the Arthritis Foundation. A Beginning Masters/Arthritis class also is available, offering resistive training and balance work while participants are seated in chairs. All abilities and ages are welcome. In addition, the Yoga C.I. classes, designed for those with chronic illnesses, are perfect for persons with arthritis and fibromyalgia. See our class schedule for details.
