“No part of the body is an island unto itself.” Even simple movements simultaneously engage the legs, core, shoulders, and arms. Try to pick up a piece of paper off the floor, using just your hand; it’s impossible. The body is an interconnected chain of muscles. Almost every movement we perform is a whole-body movement. The core muscles include not only your abdominals, but the erector spinae, which are the muscles that make up your back, and also your glutes. This is why I have embraced the TRX training. It engages the Core muscles with every exercise, thus improving your posture, balance and overall body strength in a shorter time frame.
