After realizing she had several health goals she needed to reach, Ann Edelson decided it was time to make some changes. By working with Personal Trainer, Robb Beyer, Ann was able to lower her cholesterol, lose weight and tone her body—all things that needed attention!
Her trainer worked with her to realize the importance of lowering her ‘sweets’ intake to help her lose weight. He also set a goal for her to burn 2,000 calories over the course of each week during her cardio sessions. The last step was to add in resistance training to her workout 3 times a week for 30 minutes. Robb says strength training “helps compliment her cardiovascular exercise by replacing fat mass with muscle mass.” This, in turn, lowers body fat percentage and increases metabolism.
Within a few months, Ann dropped a significant amount of weight (45 pounds), changed her blood lipid profile and reduced the dosage of her medications.
Robb says he “pointed her in the right direction, but she deserves a lion share of the credit for applying our strategies.”
