Does this sound like you? You turn the radio on in the car. Your foot starts to tap to the beat of the music. Something inside you wants to escape..A shimmee! A shake!  The inner dancer in you wants to get out! So do it. Take a dance class!

Dance will not only improve your physical well being but also your mental well being. Moving to the music and letting your body go is incredibly healthy for the mind, body and spirit. The combination of cerebral and cognitive thought process with muscle memory can improve brain function. Studies found in the New England Journal of Sports Medicine, say that dancing helps prevent dementia. Remembering steps and getting your whole body to move and keep up with your brain is a challenge. Your brain is tested and neural qualities are improved. Dance also improves coordination, flexibility, and your balance, which in turn can prevent a fall. Try balancing on 1 foot for 30 seconds. Is this difficult for you? Maybe it is time to sign up for that dance class and improve your quality of life!

As a former UofL Ladybird and NFL Colts Cheerleader, and currently as a Personal Trainer and Group Exercise Instructor at Milestone, I have the experience and confidence to  help clients face their fear of dance and help them explore their individual creative side. Many of my clients want to learn the latest line dances played at weddings or just want a great workout and need to release tension after a long work day.  Movement to music is the best way to let your body go! You do not have to be a professional dancer to dance.  Be you! Dance in your room by yourself, shake it on the dance floor with your friends or take a dance class at a gym! Release tension, lift your spirits and shed off those pounds...with DANCE!
