Forget the breaks but never forget the 'gains' from the brokenness. I try to keep in mind that we all have a story of 'overcoming, withstanding, persevering, or surviving...' Sometimes it is not our story that needs to be told, but just our strength that needs to be felt by someone else. Don’t look where you fall, but where you slipped. We don't do ourselves any service focusing on the fall itself. We stand a little taller the second or third time by recognizing the places where we lost our balance. Then changing and/or averting the variables that caused us to 'slip up' in the first place.
