Heart & Determination - Trainer Challenge!

Posted by Personal Training Department on Wednesday, July 19, 2017

In honor of the Milestone Trainer Challenge, this is a compilation of pictures showing the heart and determination displayed on "Day 1".  Milestone personal trainers practiced what they preach to their clients about setting goals, working, sweating, and when things get tough... pushing through the pain and using will-power to fight against fatigue.  Personal trainers are not finished products.  They work hard every day to become healthier, stronger, and better versions of themselves.  Let these pictures empower you as a Member of Milestone, to free yourself from the thought, "What are other people thinking?"  Instead focus on your goals and visualize yourself achieving what you set your mind to.  You can do it!  We believe in you!  Check out the great quotes throughout this article, from Milestone Personal Trainer Brenna Tomlinson!

You can keep saying “maybe one day” or you can make it day one!  No one is guaranteed tomorrow...and we all have the same 24 hours. Whether it is cleaning up that diet, adding that challenging exercise, committing by registering for that competition, joining that class....? One day may never get here. But today is the gift waiting to be opened. We all know how it works. Wanting is not enough. Let's commit to make today our... 'DAY ONE'!  (Brenna Tomlinson, CPT)

Don’t look in any direction but ahead!  We have to let go of the things that keep us 'stuck'. Keep looking forward and pressing toward the mark. Keep the past where it is… in the past. Take your lessons and make them work for you. Don't hold on to the pain and hurt and remain the same.  Let’s choose to become more than our mistakes!  (Brenna Tomlinson, CPT)

The world breaks everyone, and afterward, some are stronger in the broken places.  -Ernest Hemmingway

Forget the breaks but never forget the 'gains' from the brokenness. I try to keep in mind that we all have a story of 'overcoming, withstanding, persevering, or surviving...' Sometimes it is not our story that needs to be told, but just our strength that needs to be felt by someone else. Show others who you are because of what YOU know you have been through... no explanation needed!  (Brenna Tomlinson, CPT)

Don’t look where you fall, but where you slipped.  We don't do ourselves any service focusing on the fall itself. We stand a little taller the second or third time by recognizing the places where we lost our balance. Then changing and/or averting the variables that caused us to 'slip up' in the first place. Those details are the new tools for grinding out our 'better'!  (Brenna Tomlinson, CPT)
