Does the word, ‘cardio’ just sound awful, time consuming, maybe even dreadful to you? There are many people out there who hate doing cardio because they find it to be boring, time consuming, or monotonous. I have even heard people say, “Ugh, alright time for me to go hit the treadmill for an hour for cardio.” If you are one of these people, listen up because I have some news for you that will change your whole mind set about cardio!
The New Year is fast approaching and people all over the world will start setting new goals and resolutions to achieve in the New Year. Resolutions usually die out and rarely last long term. Form steady habits now to avoid short term resolutions later.

Life is way too short to be wasted on things you do not enjoy or on things that don’t light a fire under your rear end. Why not get excited about living every single day. Find a passion that lights up your life; whether that is your family, funding a charity, training for a race, studying a certain subject, cancer research, playing an instrument, arts and crafts, etc. Find something that lets you be greater and that lets you help others.

"Let’s all take a second to think about the patterns and routines we fall into with our workouts… do you have a specific cardio machine you go to nearly every time you walk through the gym doors? Has it gotten to the point where if somebody is on “your” machine, it makes you downright angry? Doesn’t everybody know that the elliptical on the far left is yours?!

So many of us say, “I want to lose weight, I want to burn fat, I want to look more toned.” Most of us think the answer to losing body fat is by doing an excessive amount of cardio. I am here to talk about another way that can benefit your body and help you to continually burn fat even after your workout. Lifting weights, my friends, will make you more lean and will shed that fat right off your body!

She first went to beauty school in the Ukraine, then attended the Beauty Academy of Manhattan in NYC. She started working in the Ukraine as a nail technician for 5 years. Then she worked for 13.5 years in New York City. She has worked in Louisville for 24 years. Helen is bilingual in Russian and English. She is married with 2 children and 2 granddaughters.
